| "He
Makes a Point to Listen Carefully…
…And you'd do well to do the same when Mark
Zaden makes music. The bright sounds on his CD Green Enough to Grow
make for easy listening, if you're into mellow and powerful acoustic
rock. His voice is shockingly Don Henley-like, but the music doesn't
have any ragged edges or reveal any country influences. We might
even say "guitar-driven," but we'd mean it without the
usual connotations of power chords or fancy fretwork. Zaden's music
is plainspoken, plainplayed as it were. You can hear his sound for
yourself tonight at Workplay. The show starts at 8 p.m. and tickets
cost $10.”
